The Arcs de Monells hotel is located in Monells, at the foot of Mount Gavarres, in Baix Emporda. Girona and the sea are about 25-30 km away. The city is built around an old castle, of which the ruins of the outer wall still stand, and guests can enjoy the peace and quiet as they stroll under stone archways. They can also pay a visit to the Placa Major or admire the bridge-homes. It was formerly a hospital, built in 1364 by Maria de Xrica, the countess of Empries.
